Pig and Ford races.........

If you happen to live in or plan to visit Oregon, you really should look up when the Tillamook county fair will be held.....

The Pig and Ford races are a must......................

I don't know when I had so much fun................ here is a picture one of the races...

The object being the driver must run and grab a pig ,get in his ford, drive around the track, stop

pick up another pig etc, for three laps....

the ford is a hand crank, to start rig....this is in rememberence of the old days ...when one would be driving to town or checkin'the north 40 ?? Upon finding the pigs were loose ,one would have to run and catch it, start your vehicle, pig in "hand" and take the critter home....no doubt an often, duplicatable task. Pigs are very good at getting through fences.....

Grab a coke, an elephants ear or souper duper waffle cone with REAL Tillamook icecream, who knows perhaps you'll find yourself sitting next to me, I'll be the one laughing until I cry :-),,,,
